K Reg 1992 T4 Version

Short wheel Base Left Hand Drive import from Germany – a factory fit original Westfalia

119,000 miles = 192,000 km

2.5 Litre (2461cc) Professional Dual Fuel conversion – Runs on Petrol or LPG – price guide – petrol currently at £1.20 per litre, LPG at 65p per litre – save yourself a fortune.  2.5 is big enough for you to comfortable drive on the motorway in the lane of your choice

Two fully rotating captains seats in the front, with the classic rock and roll bed in the back.  Comes with a fully functional top loading fridge, white spirit cooker, sink and water tank.  Also has a utility battery somewhere that needs replacing  – this sounds strange, but we have never found it – suspect it is behind the LPG tank, but never wanted to cut a panel to confirm.

A mains socket is available on the side of the van through which you can connect 230V.  This allows you to run lights and heating without draining your battery.  There are also a couple of internal mains sockets that come to life when this is connected along with electric heating

Comes with a lifting roof and inclusive venting – two adults can comfortably sleep “upstairs”.  “Downstairs” has fitted curtains.  Believe it or not, it also comes with a safe – the truth is that we never use it, but always show it off – lots of people are interested in the fit out of a Westy.

Westfalias come with a sliding seat rail for the rock and roll bed.  As an added benefit, this also gives you the ability to insert an extra two seats with three point seat belts.   I imported a set from Germany and as a result, the van has five three point seat belts and a sixth seat with a lap belt.  This is a very unique combination which we have never seen on any other short wheel base van.

MOT just 10 days old – we have just replaced the exhaust system at a cost of £500 – comes with three year guarantee which we will supply

The van comes with a tow bar and fully functional electric socket (important as we are dinghy sailors)

Extras

We have accumulated loads of extras over the years and will provide these with the van – this includes:

Four bike – Fiamma carrier – sits on the back door

Massive awning with inner tent (poles will need replacing very soon)

Original Left hand drive headlights – I fitted replacement right hand drive lights

Single arm Rest for the end of the extra seats – I never fitted it

Spare rear number plate

Radio with 10 CD tray– works well, but the LCD has run and cannot be read

Two years ago, I had all rust removed and a partial respray – as such, the body is in good condition

Bits to be sorted

I’m not the best at dealing with minor things as they crop up, so there are a few jobs that will need doing.  This is a complete list to avoid the tyre kickers

Tickover – it runs really well, but a little bit fast when standing still.  If it is tweaked down, it then runs too slow when you first start it – might be something to do with choke, but as it runs OK when we are on the way to the sailing club, we have ignored this

One of the cupboard doors needs a new hinge to be fitted

The fridge door needs a new hinge

The rear curtain rail has come loose – needs to be refitted

Comes with a table stowed under the rock and roll bed – should fit against the edge of the sink unit, but the edge has come away from the table

A few of the pop buttons on the curtains need to be replaced

The window winder needs to be replaced – I keep ordering the wrong one!
